Fermi Liquid with Fermion Condensate

Here we discuss the general properties of FCQPT leading to the emergence of FC. We present a microscopic derivation of the main equations of FC, and show that Fermi systems with FC form an entirely new class of Fermi liquids with its own topological structure, protecting the FC state. We construct the phase diagram, and explore the order parameter of these systems. We show that the fermion condensate has a strong impact on the observable physical properties of systems, where it is realized, up to relatively high temperatures of a few tens kelvin. Stability of hexaquarks in the string limit of confinement

The stability of systems containing six quarks or antiquarks is studied within a simple string model inspired by the strong-coupling regime of quantum chromodynamics and used previously for tetraquarks and pentaquarks. We discuss both six-quark $(q^6)$ and three-quark--three-antiquark $ (q^3\bar q{}^3)$ states. The quarks are assumed to be distinguishable and thus not submitted to antisymmetrization. It is found that the ground state of $(q^6)$ is stable against dissociation into two isolated baryons. For the case of $ (q^3\bar q{}^3)$, our results indicate the existence of a bound state very close to the threshold. The investigations are extended to $(q^3Q^3)$ and $(Q^3\bar q^3)$ systems w…

The ordering of the neutrino masses is a crucial input for a deep understanding of flavor physics, and its determination may provide the key to establish the relationship among the lepton masses and mixings and their analogous properties in the quark sector. Few-body quark dynamics for doubly heavy baryons and tetraquarks

We discuss the adequate treatment of the 3- and 4-body dynamics for the quark model picture of double-charm baryons and tetraquarks. We stress that the variational and Born-Oppenheimer approximations give energies very close to the exact ones, while the diquark approximation might be rather misleading. The Hall-Post inequalities also provide very useful lower bounds that exclude the possibility of stable tetraquarks for some mass ratios and some color wave functions.

Stability of dark matter from the D4×Z2f flavor group

Abstract We study a model based on the dihedral group D 4 in which the dark matter is stabilized by the interplay between a remnant Z 2 symmetry, of the same spontaneously broken non-abelian group, and an auxiliary Z 2 f introduced to eliminate unwanted couplings in the scalar potential. In the lepton sector the model is compatible with normal hierarchy only and predicts a vanishing reactor mixing angle, θ 13 = 0 . Since m ν 1 = 0 , we also have a simple prediction for the effective mass in terms of the solar angle: | m β β | = | m ν 2 | sin 2 θ ⊙ ∼ 10 − 3 eV . Determination of the light quark masses from eta -\rightarrow 3 pi

Recently, several experimental collaborations have invested considerable effort into new and more precise measurements of the η ! 3π decays. These experimental advances require revisiting the corresponding theoretical analyses. In this work, we present a new calculation of the η ! 3π decay amplitude relying on dispersive methods. We show how the study of this decay allows one to extract a fundamental parameter of the Standard Model, namely the quark mass ratio Q 2 � (m 2 − ˆ m 2 )/(m 2 − m 2), with good precision. Determination of m¯b/m¯c and m¯b from nf=4 lattice QCD+QED

We extend HPQCD's earlier ${n}_{f}=2+1+1$ lattice-QCD analysis of the ratio of $\overline{\mathrm{MS}}$ masses of the $b$ and $c$ quark to include results from finer lattices (down to 0.03 fm) and a new calculation of QED contributions to the mass ratio. We find that ${\overline{m}}_{b}(\ensuremath{\mu})/{\overline{m}}_{c}(\ensuremath{\mu})=4.586(12)$ at renormalization scale $\ensuremath{\mu}=3\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$. This result is nonperturbative. Combining it with HPQCD's recent lattice $\mathrm{QCD}+\mathrm{QED}$ determination of ${\overline{m}}_{c}(3\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV})$ gives a new value for the $b$-quark mass: ${\overline{m}}_{b}(3\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV})=4.513(2…
